Unfinished Business
Council By- laws:  Amended By-Laws distributed to the council members; reviewed area that was amended.  Deb to burn a copy of By-Laws to a CD and drop off with a hard copy to Bonnie at the parish office.  
Strategic Planning: Father read his draft of his thoughts of the plan including 6 guidelines; goal is to include more people and communicate goals and directions by creating focus groups or townhalls with the 20 established parish teams

Formulate questions for focus groups
Process responses from focus groups

 

Next meeting council will discuss/define goal for 2012
Renovation of sacristy and wall removal will be included in the strategic plan
P/A system:  the mixer blew-out over the holidays and has been redone; still tweaking sound system.  Suggested ushers let the choir know if the sound is OK for the mass; discussed continued training, what to do for weddings when others are using our system and should we hire someone (charged to the wedding party) to be there to monitor the system.  Connie to follow-up for next meeting.
Wallboard in gathering space:  Fred will contact Dawn Stumpf for pricing and picture of what she is thinking for Father’s approval
Welcoming of new members: Bonnie to take over; Father would like a welcome sign for new members on “Donut Day” and to invite them to dinner as someone’s house

 

New Business
Council Organization: Father Victor defined the role of the parish council was to be an advisory board to the pastor that is chosen by the parish members; the Board of Trustees attend meetings because of their value input but do not have voting rights
Officers – Deb was nominated to continue to be secretary for one more year – approved by Diane, seconded by Bonnie
Committee assignments:
Faith Formation: Deb Goodale
Social Concerns: Bonnie Hoglund – Father is considering changing this program to Community Building – more to come
Liturgy – Dianne Mosley
Maintenance – Fred Schlafke
Personnel – Diane Fournier
Finance – Ron Brown
Youth – John Sedey
Established the parish council meeting would be the third Thursday of every month at 7:00pm (Feb 16th, March 15th, April 19th, May 17th, June 21st, July 19th, Aug 16th, Sept 20th, Oct 18, Nov 15th and Dec 20th)
Committee attendees:  Full agenda did not allow enough time to include a report from the CCD group; they will be moved to either July or August
Preparation for clustering:  Father updated congregation the weekend of Jan 7 & 8th, informal joint parish council meeting with St Luke’s will be held in February (13th or 14th). St Ignatius will host and provide dessert and coffee (Diane F. to organize food)
